The Chevrolet Master and Master Deluxe were manufactured between 1933 and 1942 as the more up-market models in the range at the time. The Australian-made 1938 Chevrolet Master got a new refreshed front clip sourced from Canada (as were the mechanicals), while the rest was made locally. A new six-cylinder engine OHV displacing 216.5ci was introduced and the transmissions used had improved synchromesh and a shorter final drive ratio for more performance, along with improved trim and accessories. The range available was Sedans, Coupes and Roadsters in the Master 85 (I beam front axle) model and Sedan and Coupe in Master Deluxe (independent front suspension and upgraded interior).

Lovely 1938 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Sedan
Excellent restoration, award winner
Holden-bodied car
Lots of paperwork
Great club car
Deservedly a multiple trophy winner, this superbly rejuvenated 1938 Chevrolet Master Deluxe sedan is a credit to its late restorer. Equipped with every available period extra, and there are a lot, the big four-door has a commanding presence on the road. With its Holden body finished in a warm cream colour, sitting on original steel wheels with hubcaps and new Coker whitewall radial tyres. Up front there’s a pair of period fog and driving lights (one of each), while the brightwork is as nice as the paint. Inside, the seats are covered in a chocolate brown cloth and the steering wheel, gear knob and dash switchgear finished in period pearl-effect. The ‘woodwork’ on the dashboard and door tops are excellent too. Owned by a prominent enthusiast, this outstanding club car comes with an original set of Chevrolet brochures and maintenance guides, and a tonne of receipts, even a leaflet on this particular car produced for club events. With nothing to spend, this is a ready to go club car ideal for the family or the enthusiast looking for something a bit special. The Chev will be offered for sale unregistered.

Note: Shannons advise that all potential buyers research all vehicles before purchase to authenticate originality.
