Roaring Forties was established around 15 years ago on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. Created by a group of mechanical engineers with a common passion for Ford GT-40s and modern engineering techniques they decided to dedicate themselves to building the best replica GT40s available. Ford's GT-40 is of course best known for its Ferrari-destroying exploits in Sixties sportscar racing, and is one of the most enduringly styled vehicles of all time. Roaring Forties create a modern interpretation that involves computer design and CAD modelling to ensure the structure complies with Australian Design Rules. Engine varieties include Ford V8s with potential for over 450kW backed up by a six-speed manual transmission, while the footwell area has been extended to accommodate a wider range of driving positions. A Roaring Forties replica can be tailored to individual specification and is offered in 4 stages, from a base chassis kit to a fully ADR'd complete car.
