1982 Ford LTD FD Sedan

Description

The LTD had, by the early 1980s, established itself as Ford Australia's flagship luxury sedan and was the best-equipped Australian car money could buy at the time. Both the slightly less expensive Fairlane and more up market LTD were built on the longer wheelbase of the XD Falcon station wagon, to provide rear seat passengers with generous legroom, and each model had unique front and rear styling. The FC-model LTD of 1979 also had louvred side rear quarter windows, rear headrests, lots of electric toys and the option of leather trim. As the XD Falcon (1979 to 1982) evolved into the XE (1982 to 1984) and finally, the XF (1984 to 1988), so too the LTD was similarly improved through its subsequent FD and FE variants.
