Arriving in Australia in 1991, the SVX coupe was the most expensive and exclusive model Subaru had ever produced. (It was perhaps to this niche Japanese manufacturer something like the SM had been to Citroën two decades earlier.) With its gorgeous Giugaro bodywork, ultra-smooth yet characterful 3.0-litre horizontally-opposed six-cylinder engine and unique glasshouse, the SVX was a car for the connoisseur.
