Moto Guzzi is an Italian motorcycle manufacturer that has endured from the industry's infancy to its place today as the oldest European manufacturer in continuous motorcycle production. Established in 1921 in Mandello del Lario, Italy, the company is noted for its central historic role in Italy's motorcycling manufacture, its prominence worldwide in motorcycle racing, and a series of industry innovations - including the first motorcycle wind tunnel and the first motorcycle eight-cylinder engine. As originally envisioned, the company used racing to promote the brand. In the 1935 Isle of Man TT, Moto Guzzi factory rider Stanley Woods performed an impressive double victory with wins in the Lightweight TT as well as the Senior TT.Introduced in 1960 the Stornello 125 was designed with maximum affordability of construction in mind,parrallel overhead valves, wet sump, and pressure die cast crankcase. Given the healthy sales, a new and more powerful engine was built and fitted to various racers: the sport, the scrambler and the Regolarita.At the end of 1967 a 160cc version was introduced with a 5 speed gearbox and new styling. The Stornello was produced from 1960 to 1975.
