1976 Mazda Capella 'Dragcar' Sedan (Project)

Description

The Mazda Capella was introduced in 1970 as a mid-size four-door sedan. Billed as a family car in this form, in some markets a two-door version was also available. Powered by a simple SOHC 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine a version of Mazda's 12A rotary engine was also optionally available and was widely known as the RX-2 outside its domestic market. After a facelift in 1974 the first generation Capella was replaced in 1978. The nameplate continued through seven generations before ceasing production in 2002.
