Packard's range of post-war cars really began with the 1948 22nd Series cars, a streamlined model still powered by a straight eight that remained in production for the next three years with only minor changes. On August 24, 1950 the all-new 24th Series with modern, attractive styling by John Reinhart, was launched as a 1951 model and came in three distinct models, the 200/250, the 300 and 400 'Patrician'. Named ?The Most Beautiful Car of the Year? by the Society of Motion Picture Directors, the new model was generally well received. Indeed, Packard's sales picked up considerably in 1951 and for a time at least, the future of the company looked to be in good shape. For the 1952 model year, few cosmetic or mechanical changes were made to the 25th Series, with both the 200 and 250 lines continuing to employ the 288-cid and 327-cid straight eights respectively. The 200 was available in either Standard of Deluxe versions and both models could be had as the four-door Sedan or two-door Club Sedan. Often overlooked, the 1950-1954 Packards are supremely elegant, refined and luxurious American cars with plenty of power and the added cache of a famous name.
