For many, the sight and sound of a Touring Bentley from the 1920s is an unbeatable combination. With prices for the genuine article long ago entering the stratosphere common sense suggests that a replica based on a later model Bentley would provide a worthwhile tribute to the legendary pre-WW2 racers. The Mk VI Bentley of the late 1940s offers a solid base, with large 4.5-litre six-cylinder engine and a robust chassis to which many body styles can be fitted. This combination provides decent performance and imposing presence with all the grace and speed offered by the originals, at a far more accessible price point.
