After being founded in 1910 by H.R Godfrey and Archibald Frazer-Nash, G.N went to work producing cycle cars for the local British market, powered by externally-sourced V-Twin engines. They proved quickly successful, and in 1911 a 'Twin' of their own design was introduced to their wood-chassis, chain-driven machines. Post-World War One the company was acquired by British Gregoire Limited who modernised the concept by switching to steel chassis. Through the early 1920s a licensing arrangement with the French Salmson company promised much, and the introduction of a shaft-driven, four-cylinder car was implemented as demand for cycle cars waned. It wasn't enough, and with the departure of both original owners in 1922, G.N stopped production in 1923.
