Description
Introduced to celebrate the accomplishments of legendary race Mike Hailwood, the 1000 MHR (Mike Hailwood Replica) Mille arrived in 1984 as a replacement for the already potent 900 MHR. The legendary V-Twin engine was air-cooled and employed Ducati's trademark desmodromic valves with revised bevel drive. Bored and stroked to achieve 973cc the 1000 MHR used a lightweight tube frame and all the latest-tech componentry with a fairing designed to mimic the race bikes Hailwood used to such good effect. The new engine ran Nikasil barrels and a once piece nitride crankshaft to ensure reliability. A hydraulic dry clutch operated a five-speed manual gearbox. These MHR Ducati's are truly sought after bike today and can steel compete with modern bikes for feel on the road, with undoubted charisma thrown in for good measure.
