Description

Built between 1967 and 1974, the Javelin was AMC's entry into the world of the 'Pony Car' against the likes of Chevrolet's Camaro and Ford's Mustang. Available only as a two-door hardtop there was a high level of personalisation available, with engine options ranging from economical sixes through to a big-block, 390ci V8. Three and four-speed manuals along with a three-speed auto were the transmission options. There was also a number of Javelins built up from CKD form in Australia as right-hand drive cars. The RHD dash and interiors were produced locally and marketed under the 'Rambler' name with a 343ci V8 and three-speed auto transmission.
