Harley-Davidsons of the Twenties were popular bikes to run at Board racing meets. These events were run on oval circuits made of wooden boards and were very popular in the United States. Harley's in-house racing department, founded in 1914, had great success in both endurance road events along with speed events that were held on such circuits. In short, the racing sowed the company's incomparable reputation across the world.
