Shannons USA Trip - Ohio: Classic Restos - Series 39

By Shannons - Published on 21 December 2018

Fletch is in Ohio on his Shannons US trip. He meets up with Bob, a collector whose passion began when he got his drivers licence at 16, and he has been restoring cars ever since, in particular Fords. Today he has an impressive collection of Thunderbirds and Lincolns, all in various stages of restoration, in a climate controlled environment and each protected under covers. Outside there are some 300 wrecks he refers to as parts cars, cars that he has collected so he can finish the ones identified for restoration. His story is an interesting one and his tip for budding restorers 'Don't give up, the final result will be worth it, just keep going'.

In what appears to be an annual journey, Fletch catches up with Mark from Shannons to talk about his trek across America, this time picking up a 1966 Dodge Monaco 383 Big Block V8 and driving almost non-stop to his shipper in San Francisco. Fletch talks about his latest acquisition the 1966 Monaco and Mark reveals what it's like on one of these journeys, which he highly recommends for any motoring enthusiasts who are considering purchasing one of these old classics.

Another regular on Classic Restos is Murray Park, we visit his home and see one of his latest additions a 1958 Chrysler Windsor 4 door sedan that he has converted into a Police Car Replica and as he says is quite a show stopper. Murray talks about the origins of his Mopar passion from an early age, it all started with collecting hubcaps it was his favourite past time. Another great enthusiast story.
