2018 Sydney German Autofest: Classic Restos - Series 39

The Sydney German Autofest features cars from vintage, classic, exotic and motorsport enthusiasts, with over 400 pristine and very desirable cars on display from the German powerhouse marquees of Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, BMW, Audi and Volkswagen. The event is supported by all manufacturers Car Clubs and hosted by the Mercedes-Benz Club of NSW.
 
Fletch as always gets out onto the field to uncover some very special cars, first up is Simon with a very prestigious 1958 300D Mercedes_Benz that has been part of his family for 40 years and considered a family heirloom. Then Simon with a 1962 Mercedes-Benz190SL Roadster and Uros with another very collectable 1968 Mercedes 280SL Pagoda. But then there was Mike who proudly displayed not 1 but 3 Mercedes-Benz 600's from the 60's each 6 metres long with  6.3 litre V8's, this was when Mercedes was taking on the big American and Rolls Royce vehicles of the time.
 
Motor racing celebrities Jim Richards and Spencer Martin were in attendance and impressed with the quantity and quality of the cars on Display. Jim reflected on his racing career behind German sports car marquees BMW and Porsche and Spencer relives some of his racing action of the 1960's in his Holden FX against Norm Beechy.
