Murray Park's Mopar Family - Crossing the USA 2023 - Ep 4: Classic Restos - Series 54

By Shannons - Published on 12 December 2023

A trip to the USA wouldn't be complete without a stop at Tiffin, Ohio, the home of long-time Mopar enthusiast, Murray Park. However, this time, the spotlight is on Murray's mother, Jane, who is 82 years old, and his two daughters, Christina and Daniella.

Jane's love for cars was passed down to Murray, as her first love was a 1964 Chrysler 300K, which was ten years old when she purchased it. She loved the car and even participated in several competitions, including the Milestone Car Society Car Show, where she won the "Best of Show" award. Jane drove the 300K for around eight years before the desire for a convertible resulted in trading it for a 1963 Ford Convertible Indianapolis Pace car. However, she always regretted selling the 300K, her first and most beloved car. In 2022, when Murray located the vehicle in North Carolina and brought it home, Jane was moved to tears as it drove up their driveway. She still owns the 300K, a 1968 Chrysler, and her late husband's 1956 Cadillac Convertible. The family has always been collectors and lovers of cars, both their own and others, so you can understand where the origins of Mopar Murray come from.

Murray's daughters continue the tradition as the next generation. Christina is a devoted DeSoto fan who proudly talks about her passion for cars, particularly Desoto’s. Her latest project, a 1958 Desoto Hearse, is an interesting choice. This one will be a ground-up restoration, and she acknowledges that it will take some time to bring it back to its original condition but is reminded that she has a good source of parts to rely on.

After years of attending car shows and swap meets with her father, Danielle, Christina's sister, also has the same passion. One of her cars is a restored 1957 Plymouth Belvedere, a 4-door sports sedan she purchased in 2016. Danielle says she first became interested in the Plymouth at the Carlisle Car Show some years ago and was attracted to the car's styling.

This family is continuing to share their love for cars across generations.
