Shannons Events Competition Conditions
Participation
1. This Competition ("Competition") is conducted by Shannons Pty Limited ABN 91 099 692 636 (Shannons), an authorised representative of AAI Limited ABN 48 005 297 807 (AAI), the issuer of Shannons car and home and contents insurance, of Level 23, 80 Ann Street, Brisbane, Queensland 4000.
2. All entry instructions and prize information provided by the Promoter at the point of entry form part of these conditions. By entering, entrants accept these conditions.
3. The Competition is only open to individuals who: (i) are Australian residents aged 18 years or older at time of entry; and (ii) are not directors, management or employees, or their immediate family members of the Promoter or its related companies, its agencies, or other companies associated with, or benefiting from, the Competition ("Eligible Entrant").
A reference to “immediate family member(s)” means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or cousin.
4. Competition will run on various dates at a Shannons Attended Event between 8th May 2026 and 17 October 2026 ("Competition Period").
Entry
5. In these conditions:
“Shannons Signage” means any signage, boards or displays (whether printed, handwritten, digital or electronic) displayed at, or forming part of, the Shannons promotional activation area at a Shannons Attended Event, which set out information relating to the Competition applicable to that Shannons Attended Event, including prize details, prize value, entry instructions, winner determination, eligibility requirements, and information on where full Terms and Conditions can be accessed. Shannons Signage is the authoritative source of information for the Competition at a Shannons Attended Event.
“Shannons Attended Event” means an event held at a physical venue which Shannons attends within the Competition Period and at which Shannons is present with an onsite promotion, activation area, marquee, stand or equivalent physical presence for the purpose of promoting the Competition.
“Shannons Promotion Activation area” means the physical stand, marquee, activation zone or equivalent on-site location operated by Shannons at a Shannons Attended Event from which the Competition is promoted.
“New Eligible Shannons Motor Insurance Quote” means a new quote is requested for Shannons Motor (Car and/or Motorbike) Insurance Policy (excluding CTP Insurance), OR a new Risk (defined below) is quoted on an existing Shannons Motor Insurance (Car and/or Motorbike) Policy. The Issuer’s normal underwriting criteria apply. Excludes renewals.
“New Eligible Shannons Home & Contents Insurance Quote” means a quote for new Shannons Home & Contents Insurance Policy (includes building only, contents only or building and contents cover). The Issuer’s normal underwriting criteria apply. Excludes renewals.
“Risk(s)” means items covered within an insurance policy (such as vehicles insured under a motor insurance policy). The Issuer’s normal underwriting criteria apply.
“Issuer” means AAI Limited ABN 48 005 297 807 AFSL 230859.
For the avoidance of doubt, entry and participation occur only at a Shannons Attended Event, and the obtaining of a quote and participation in the challenge, must occur on the same day.
6. To enter the Competition, an Eligible Entrant must, during the Competition Period:
i. request an eligible insurance quote with a Shannons representative at a Shannons Attended Event; and
ii. on that same day, participate in the skill based timer challenge conducted at the Shannons Promotion Activation area, in the manner communicated via Shannons Signage.
The challenge requires the Entrant to stop a timer at a specified target time, as communicated via Shannons Signage and/or staff, and prizes are awarded solely on whether the Entrant’s performance meets the winning criteria for that day. Chance plays no part in determining the outcome, and no random draw or element of chance applies.
7. Limit of one entry per person during the Competition Period.
8. Entries must be received by the Promoter during the Competition Period. Entries will be deemed received at the time that all necessary requirements under condition 6 have been met.
9. Each winner acknowledges and agrees that the Promoter (and each of its assignees and licensees) has the right, acting reasonably, to edit, amend, copy, reproduce, use, publish, broadcast and communicate to the public, the entry in any media including television and the internet, without any further consultation, reference, payment or other compensation. Each winner also agrees that they will not make any claim against the Promoter (or its assignees and licensees) arising from the exercise of these rights, including claims in relation to any moral rights that they may otherwise have.
10. The Promoter may with reasonable grounds declare an entry invalid or disqualify any entrant that tampers with the entry process or benefits from such tampering, submits an entry that is incomplete or not in accordance with these conditions, or otherwise acts in a manner that is disruptive, dishonest or calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of this Competition.
11. The Promoter reserves the right to require each winner to verify the validity of their entry within a reasonable requested time, including but not limited to their identity and eligibility, and to disqualify any entrant who does not satisfy any entry criteria in these conditions.
Judging
12. This Competition is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winner.
13. To win a prize, an Eligible Entrant must successfully complete the timer challenge by stopping the timer at the specified target time as communicated via Shannons Signage. A prize is awarded to an Entrant(s) whose performance satisfies the winning criteria for that Shannons Attended Event Day. If no Entrant(s) satisfies the winning criteria, no prize will be awarded for that Shannons Attended Event Day.
14. Judging will be by staff appointed by the Promoter. Judging decisions are final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
Prizes
15. The Prizes available at a Shannons Attended Event will be displayed on the day and will include some or all of the following – hats valued at $30, small helmets valued at $50, medium sized
helmets valued at $85, large helmets valued at $280, car wash kits valued at $40; as of 29 April 2026. A prize value is the recommended retail value inclusive of GST as provided by the relevant supplier(s). The Promoter takes no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prize due to exchange rate changes or otherwise.
16. Any additional costs not expressly stated, but which may be incurred in acceptance and use of a prize, are the responsibility of the winner.
17. No compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to take any element of a prize as stated.
18. If a prize is unavailable the Promoter reserves the right to substitute with a prize of equal or greater value.
19. Other than as expressly stated in these conditions, a prize is non-refundable, non-exchangeable, non-replaceable, and non-redeemable for another prize including cash, except at the Promoter’s reasonable discretion.
Prize Winner(s)
20. Due to the nature of the skill based timer challenge, whether an Eligible Entrant has won a prize is determined immediately upon completion of the challenge. Eligible Entrants will be advised of the outcome at the Shannons Promotion Activation area at the time of participation. No email, telephone or other post event notification will be provided.
21. Where an Eligible Entrant is determined to be a winner, the prize will be awarded immediately or arrangements for prize fulfilment will be made at the Shannons Promotion Activation area on the Event Day. No deferred claiming process applies.
22. A winner is entitled to choose only one prize from the prizes available at the Shannons Attended Event.
23. The prize will only be awarded following any winner validation and verification that the Promoter reasonably requires.
24. If: (i) a prize is not claimed by a winner; or (ii) a winner is determined by the Promoter to be ineligible to win a prize in accordance with these conditions, the relevant prize will be forfeited.
General
25. Nothing in these terms and conditions restricts, excludes or modifies any consumer rights under any statute including the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
26. If this Competition is not capable of running as planned, or is interfered with or disrupted in any way by unforeseen circumstances outside the Promoter’s control (including by vandalism, power failures, natural disasters, acts of God, weather event, civil unrest, strikes, computer bugs or viruses, tampering or technical failures), the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition, or invalidate any affected entries, acting reasonably and to the extent necessary to address the unforeseen circumstances.
27. Subject to any rights you may have under any applicable law, the Promoter assumes no responsibility for the following, except to the extent caused or contributed to by our own negligence : (i) any error, omission, interruption, or delay in the operation or transmission of any communication sent to (or by) the Promoter or any entrant whether caused by problems with communication networks or lines, computer systems, software or internet service providers, congestion on any carrier network or otherwise; (ii) any theft, destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of such communications; (iii) any problem with, or technical malfunction of, any computer system or other equipment used for the conduct of the Competition; or (iv) any delay in delivery (when not directly caused by the Promoter or its supplier), or failure of safe delivery of a prize.
28. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
29. A winner accepts a prize at their own risk. Any tax liability arising as a result of accepting a prize is the responsibility of the winner. Independent financial advice should be sought.
30. To the full extent permitted by law, the Promoter, its associated companies and agencies and any of their personnel (the "Relevant Parties") exclude all liability for any loss (including any damage, claim, injury, cost or expense) which is suffered or incurred by any Eligible Entrant in connection with the Competition or a prize, including without limitation: (i) any indirect loss such as loss of business or other profits; and (ii) any liability for personal injury or death. To the extent that such liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the minimum allowable by law. The Promoter may request that a winner signs and returns a deed of release to this effect as a condition of a prize being awarded. If a winner fails to sign and return such release, they may forfeit the prize.
31. If requested by the Promoter and agreed by the winner, the winner will participate in reasonable promotional activity (such as publicity and photography) surrounding winning a prize, and consent to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice (including any photograph, film and/or recording of them) in promotional material related to the Competition in any media at any time without notification or compensation, financial or otherwise.
Privacy Statement and Marketing Consent
32. Entrants’ personal information is collected from entrants by or on behalf of the Promoter to enable the Promoter and its agents to manage, administer and promote the Competition and, where applicable, publicise the winner(s). The personal information may also be provided to persons assisting the Promoter, including prize suppliers and deliverers, marketing agencies and IT providers, media outlets and related companies.
33. If an Eligible Entrant does not provide the personal information the Promoter requests, the Promoter may not be able to enter them into the Competition. All personal information is handled in accordance with these conditions and the Promoter’s Privacy Policy.
