They were aware the XP was not a factory convertible but they wanted an Australian convertible so they could film directly into for most scenes and decided to go with the XP. They also used a close up shot of my Ford radio at night for another film were they shot a close up shot of the radio for a police announcement when crooks were on the run. The original car they used for that scene did not have a radio. They used a Studebaker Hawk in the Heart Beat shoot as a police car. Not sure if that was correct also.
