Jeez Freeway I love that model Merc too, I had no idea the 190 series could be so thirsty. I knew a bloke who put a 202 Holden motor in one but I don't think it improved economy at all ! I have a similar viewpoint to cj429 as consumption is not a big issue for me. Driven conservatively my 5 litre V8 isn't too bad, but when 'little Red' wants to gallop it is like flushing a toilet. However, my motto is; "If you want horses you gotta Feed 'em!"
