Quote (David Burrell): I reckon the Commodore's 96,000 sales would have gone more to the HZ than UC, and also shifted to Ford's new XD Falcon, released in March 1979.(unquote) I owned a 6cyl XD Falcon S/Pack before trading it in for a VC Vacationer in 1985. Looking back, today I asked my wife how she compared it with the Commodore. "It was a nothing car" she said in typical 'girl speak' and to be completely honest I had to agree with her. Yes, we loved our Commodore and were both sad to part with it when we sold up in 1988 in order to spend some time in the UK. When we returned in 1995 the first car that caught our eye was a 202ci VB Commodore SL and that's the car we still proudly own to this day. *Zoom-in on the engine bay of the VC Vacationer below. Wow!
