While not a Blitz there was discussion on captured vehicles being used by the enemy. This war-time Austin K2 Ambulance was left behind at Dunkirk, so was taken by the Germans in 1940. They painted it to their requirements and sent it off to the Russian front in 1941. When D-Day took place in 1944, they sent it back to France with a Polish driver, where it was recaptured by the British and used till the end of the war. In five years this old girl saw service on three fronts under two armies.
