I have owned my 65' Riviera for just over 8 years and while it was bought as a cruiser you would be astonished at how well it handles. Even better now it has double acting shocks and a quicker steering ratio. In fact I had a wonderful time doing a day of the Classic Adelaide but reckon everyone else had about 12" more road than we did! The first Gen really was unique being parachuted into the Buick range when Cadillac didn't pick it up. For a car in the early 60's many things about it were remarkable: Bonded Front AND Rear Windscreen (very rigid body), Door skins which un bolt, Frameless windows, Electric Headlight covers, Huge 9.3/4"(?) Diff, big Finned alloy front Drums (sought after for Hot Rods). Even Buick's Rallye wheels are unique with a full single pressing on the outside (like a ribbed pizza pan) and the rim welded to the back rather than the traditional rim with center. Power Brakes, steering, seat, windows and even optional power vent windows. Most surprisingly it is popular with Rolls, Bentley and English car enthusiasts because it is low key. Wonderful Car!
