70Hornet and PonyRider, yes, the Hornet styling was a real stand out. It was, to borrow an advertising line: trim, taut and terrific. And as for speedway, you will have no argument with me about oval track racing. I've seen most forms of motorsport around the world and speedway still ranks number one with me for excitement and compelling action. My first real job was on the construction crew which built the Motordrome Speedway in Newcastle (now sadly now gone). I've attached a photo of a sprintcar team in which I had involvement, as a manager in the sponsorship company. Plus, there is a speedway story in an upcoming Retroautos. We look at the restoration of a famous sprintcar of the 1979/80 season and its racing history.
