Our local dentist bought a Simca Vedette Beaulieu (as kids we had no idea on how to pronounce that one!) during the 1961 Credit Squeeze. He tried to trade his Single-spinner 1949 Ford Custom in but they told him to take the Ford home and gave him a pretty hefty discount at the same time on the Simca. They were listed at about £1400 at the time, well above a Zephyr, let alone a Holden but a lot less than a Chrysler Royal from the same showroom. These photos were taken at a local Cars & Coffee a couple of years ago, and it looked magnificent. (Pity the steering wheel is upside down)
