Alan, you raise an interesting question about XD utes with 351 V8s. I've double-checked an XD spec sheet from a 1981 brochure (see attached) and it only shows the 302 V8 being available. So is it possible that the 351 V8 option in XD utes/vans was only offered for a short time after launch in 1979 and by 1981 had been dropped? Or was the 351 V8 never available in these vehicles? I've often wondered about this because I've never seen a genuine factory 351 XD ute. If they did make any, they must be amongst the rarest of all Aussie Fords today - commercials or otherwise!
