Just as a thought bubble, it occurred to me what would it have been like if they had all joined forces 50 years ago in 1971. Most of them were independent - just a few of them such as Chrysler and Dodge were of the same company, Vauxhall and Opel were cousins with very little interaction between them, while Abarth modified Fiats and Citroen owned Maserati and Fiat owned Lancia. A few names that were around in 1971 are now long gone include Plymouth, Imperial and Autobianchi; they could have been part of the Stellantis mix. I made a few images and it's interesting to look at the wide disparity between them all. The culture of those companies then are vastly different today.
