Very difficult to spot the visual difference between a Mark 8 and Mark 9 Jaguar. The 9 came with the 3.8 litre engine over the 8's 3.4. Rootes were worse - a change of diff ratio meant a Hillman Minx became a Series III B or whatever, with fresh brochures and advertising.
