A couple of years ago I received a call from an old friend on the mainland who had been looking for the right E type for quite a while. He wanted u********* and manual and he was fussy. Could I look at a car for him and if it was as described he would buy it. No pressure then. My wife and I made a day of the trip to inspect and drive the car. The 4.2 manual 2 plus 2 turned out to be a perfect example of a survivor car and had spent the majority of it's life with one owner. The owners manual was even autographed by Norman Dewis. Full service history all original delivery document and even the bottle of touch up paint that came with the car. The car stayed with us for a month while it's proud new owner arranged to have it shipped home and he put me on the insurance so that I could drive it! The only other one I've driven was a manual 12 cylinder coupe back in the early 80s, superb.
