Thanks for the comments and compliments everyone. I gave ET a wash today. Rainwater of course! I have a couple of small tanks that are for car washing. The scheme water here is quite hard and leaves a lot of water marks. Earlier I tried out the charging system. I plugged it into my wall socket using the Tesla supplied plugs. I will have an electrician come out to install the Tesla wall charger that comes included with the car. I dawned on me that it was charging from my solar panels, so maybe I am greener than I thought. It felt good to be doing this at home rather than driving to a fuel station. I took it for a short drive today. The response to the throttle is instant. It definitely needs the AWD system. I have not tried the Autopilot system yet. The large central screen has a huge number of customisation options for everything from the drivetrain to security monitoring. The addition of a USB stick allows it to record 360 degrees while driving or parked and also notify you of suspicious activity near the vehicle when parked. The speedo is easy to see but you would want to adjust the mirrors, for example, when the vehicle is stationary only. In answer to your various questions: -It does not need to be run in. We have a total of one Tesla Supercharger in WA and it is about 159km from me. There are many universal type chargers but I think that all my charging will be at home. Thanks for the complements on the colour, Madmuz. It changes tone quite a bit according to the background light. -Comparing it to the very impressive and fast Model S I test drove, the 3 feels more planted on the road with better steering and a more agile feel. The lowered suspension on the Performance model is firm but not jiggly and has a suppleness that makes it comfortable. The S was quicker but this car is still quicker than my senses are used to. Nearly 2500 Model 3 vehicles are being delivered in Australia at the moment so you should be seeing more soon. -No ludicrous mode but it offers a choice of Sport or Chill accelerator response. I have it in Sport. I will be driving it more this long weekend so will keep the forum updated.
