One of my favourites for '55 has to be the first (for Australia) ohv V8 Ford Customline. I'll have mine in one of those beautiful soft iridescent red, green or blue colours Fords came. Neighbours of ours replaced their 1946 Hudson with a one of these blue Cussos; for some reason I thought it was the most modern car ever..... The back-lit speedo was the stuff of space travel and wrap round windscreen likewise. To me this was the Aussie Customline at its best - anything they did later was a retrograde step using hand-me-down Canadian bits. Straight through chrome on the side and the best grille.
