I don't think Dodge would have had any influence over Daimler, but in 1956 that very British company came up with the Daimler 104 (or One-O-Four) Lady's Model, yes really. It was an addition to the 104 Saloon, so called because the new 4.5 litre car reached 104 mph. Probably on the behest of Lady Docker, wife of the Daimler chairman, Sir Bernard Docker that a car be produced that might appeal to the ladies. They actually made 49 of these and according to the brochure, "Introducing an entirely new conception in motor car design, the special One-O-Four Lady's Model is lavishly equipped with features of feminine appeal." The special features included a collapsable umbrella, travelling rug and sheepskin floor rug, rolled gold pencil, notepad, torch, sunglasses, Max Factor vanity case and cigarette packet holder. No Dodge La Femme would have come equipped with a Shooting Stick! It's hard to know who actually bought these cars and I would imagine that not many have survived intact with all the feminine artefacts in place. Nora Docker was also responsible for the extravagant gold-plated Docker Specials which appeared on the Daimler stand at Motor Shows in the early '50s.
