Good to be in company of other old farts... I'm a 6/63 model. Yes the assassination and not making light of it, but I do like the shape of the black Lincoln in the clip we have all seen so many times. One of my favourite toys was a '63 Cadillac ambulance. Most of the police (in SA anyway) were cruising around on stunning looking and sounding black and chrome BSA Golden Flash (oh the disappointment when they took away the keys and handed back HD Holden ute keys!). 1963 cars I have owned - 850 mini panel van (lots of funny adventures for another time) and a Triumph Spitfire that at times I felt was trying its own assassination attempt with the swing axle rear suspension - I learnt fast, just don't back off! And will do another thread with detail and still doing research ... but what about a Lotus 7 or even better the modified chassis of the Bacchus by recently deceased Rory Thompson of ASP in Adelaide. Derek Jolly of Adelaide - raced with Graham Hill in 1959 at LeMans for Lotus - had the Lotus dealership and when the chassis had problems sent them to Rory for repair.. who made his own chassis to fix the problems. I have that first chassis with 3 bearing MGB motor built by first purchaser of chassis Bill Hanson. And when i drive it, it is hard to imagine being able to drive this (1964) car and compare performance with other cars at the time. I'm not very computer savvy, click the photo below to see the full advert.
