Wonderful photo, JohnW2. Another aspect of the R8 that is overlooked, is that it came with 4 wheel disc brakes. This was at a time when Porsche was only just getting around to installing them. Dare I say it, the R8 was as close to a 4 door Porsche as you could get, especially when the Gordini arrived.
