What you're looking at is a 1:1 scale replica of the Aston Martin DBR1 that won the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans. This hand made piece of art was designed and built as a tribute to this iconic win, its drivers (Carroll Shelby and Roy Salvadori) and the chief engineer (Ted Cutting), all of whom passed away this year. It was built in the traditional AirFix model style by the Evanta Motor Company in Hertfordshire, England using an entire DBR1 body shell and comprising of each individual part, almost as though they could be twisted, glued and built by the lucky owner! This is a unique item as only one has been made and is expected to bring in between $30,000-$50,000US at auction during the Goodwood Revival weekend. Although it's quite large at 3.3m tall and over 6m wide, we're sure that many of our members would be happy to find room for this beauty in the garage, or potentially the living room!
