I was always a keen admirer of the Toronado, ever since I saw my uncle's built-up 1:24 scale plastic model that he'd painted an interesting shade of metallic green. Over the years I have obtained a number of automotive sales brochures via a collector based in upper New York state ... one of the items he had on offer a few years back related to a former race driver and his GM car tuning business located in Connecticut ... John Fitch & Co Inc. ... John's most familiar road cars were based around the Chevrolet Corvair and the first generation Pontiac Firebird, but in 1966 he also offered up the Oldsmobile Toronado 'Phantom' of which apparently only two examples were produced ... here's a couple of library images, plus a two-page road test as printed in the September 1966 issue of Popular Mechanics ...
