Thanks Motown1. I have to say that I like both the short and "regular 'versions of the Toro. They, and cars such as the Chevrolet Corvair, represent an era at GM when the company had the deep pockets and creative leadership to fund and champion innovative engineering and styling. In 1966, when the Toronado was released, GM offered consumers a choice of rear engined, FWD and RWD platforms. No car company does that today. Anyway, I've attached two images of early Toronado prototype proposals, from 1963. And I plan to do a Toronado story towards the end of 2017.
