The post-war Pullmans were produced from 1945 through to 1954. The Mark 1 was based on the old pre-war body style of the Snipe and Super Snipe, similar to the war-time open version that Montgomery was driven around in. The II and III were also based on the Super Snipe with Thrupp & Maberley doing the bodywork, and it was on a longer wheelbase. The Imperial was also produced at the same time. Note the different way the doors were hung; some had suicide, the Imperial had the front doors the other way around. According to Michael Sedgwick's A-Z of Cars 1945-70, unknown amount of the Mark 1 were produced, but 3,500 were produced between 1949 and 1953. The last of them, the IV was produced between 1953 and '54 with only 414 made. Sedgwick's comment about these last ones; "Very rare indeed, but a very big car and no fun whatever to drive."
