I thought about nominating a GT-HO, but then again, is an HO just another Falcon GT ? ... given their long-term legendary status, I tend to think of the HOs as an altogether separate model line, with the lone Calypso Green XA version the one car to covet. So, that leaves me to consider the others and I'm talking specifically the 1967 through 1976 regular production years ... I'd want my Falcon GT to be instantly recognisable as something more than a decorated Falcon 500 and so it has to be a two-door Hardtop ... and whilst the four wheel disc brake set-up of the XB series earns plus points, I really couldn't pass up something earlier from 1973, specifically an RPO83 version of the XA Falcon GT Hardtop ... colour, how about Wild Plum for an attention seeker ... there were 57 XA GT Hardtops built in this colour, of which only 4 were RPO83s ... the why question is easy, with the car being the closest thing you'd find approaching a stillborn Phase IV GT-HO. Overall, my preferred car would look something along the lines of this 'plum' that was offered for sale back in 2011 ...
