Mark, I see what you mean. From the Ford Australia website, 'E-Transit comes equipped with a Type 2, Mode 3, 32-amp charge cable as standard. This cable requires a wall charger box to charge at home (not supplied) or can be used at a public charger'. This is fine for a commercial operator but for road testers and and others, a cable such as that pictured would allow home charging. I agree about cabin heating. It is very nice to have instant heating or a pre-warmed cabin along with a motor that does not need warming up.
