This HJ Sandman was another great vehicle, but the 308 in this one was a heap of shit! It boiled on the delivery drive home from Lance Motors in St Marys to Blaxland in the Mountains. Our neighbour, David Wright was the GUN salesman for GMH, he took it back the next day, the service dept put new head gaskets on it. David drove it home, well almost, it spat out two spark plugs, so it was towed back to Lance Motors and we had David's HJ Premier (with all the fruit) for a few days. We got the Sandman back but the motor was always up the shit.
