Come to think of it, there were more desirable MkII models beyond the GT and Cortina-Lotus. It was a shame Australia never got the 1600E (E for Executive), which was a nice mix of GT Kent engine and lowered suspension with luxury walnut trim, full instrumentation, fog lights, tasteful black-outs and Rostyle wheels. The 1600E would have to be one of the most collectable MkIIs.
