I have just been reading the QLD Sunday Mail today regarding the crazy prices of the last of the top self Holdens including the HSVs, Marloo and GTS R W1 , are commanding now. In 2017 I purchased the last of the SS Sports Wagons at a Noosa Dealership as my daily driver. I nearly bought a stock VF V6 egotech wagon but is soon as the salesman hit the remote start key on the SS with the LS3 6.2Lt V* I was hooked. He mentioned this was the last one in stock and many punters left it too late to purchase the last of the big bangers as they have place the last orders to Holden 6 months prior and were restricted on what could be supplied. This included only 2 x of the GTS R W1 per dealership. One for the dealers permanent showroom display and one for a cash down upfront customer at $169000. I used to admire the collection of pristine Holden cars on display a Madill Holden Noosa every service time including a mint blact FJ , a lovely CV8 Monaro and this monster 427 supercharged GTS R W1 with 30km on the clock. 12 months ago they crumbled to a crazy undisclosed offer from a Sydney buyer who get this, owns another GTS R W1. Interestingly the newspaper article states the $$ gain for these Holdens is between 120 - 300% in the last year. Not bad comparing an AMG C62 and BMW M4 is around -30%. I think I would buy a classic Australian muscle car for $300k than Michael Jacksons glove. Now I am off to check the VIN number of my SS wagon and give it a wash.
