The Tatraplan was exported widely around 1950-52, but only in small numbers as Tatra were not a mass manufacturer. A dozen or twenty were sent to Australia. Canada took a consignment of around 50 cars but after a number were sold there was apparently some political backlash and part of the consignment were dumped in the bay outside Vancouver. It's possibly as much a myth as many other Tatra stories. A handful of Tatraplans were exported to the US, but again, the timing was poor - the height of the Cold War - and they did not sell well. Tatra T603s were used around the world by Czech consular offices but these were never sold as private cars, nor exported. After the 603 was replaced by the 613 in the 1980s, some of the old consular 603s were sold off to private customers.
