Hey Steve, I would be a beginner on a Pedal Steel, it is a whole different style of playing. If Ronnie can play one I sure admire him for that. I tried a "Lap Steel" once and was hopeless with it. I'm like you, I love the sound, and I even like a slide on a lap played acoustic guitar too. This old dog is getting a bit long in the tooth to learn new tricks, I am better off with what I know, and thankfully I get by pretty well on that.
