Tom Walkinshaw did a superb job in reminding the world of Jaguar's performance credentials (particularly its superb V12) when TWR was very patriotically committed to the brand in the 1980s-90s era. His XJS team won the 1984 European Touring Car Championship including the prestigious Spa 24-Hour and a year later the Bathurst 1000 with an impressive three-car assault (below left). TWR Jaguar V12s also won the 1988 Le Mans 24-Hour (XJR-9LM below centre) and 1990 Le Mans 24-Hour (XJR-12LM below right). I remember that TWR-Jaguar era with great fondness. It's a shame Jaguar isn't more committed to motor racing these days, because to me 'Jaguar' and 'motor racing' are synonymous.
