Yes Silvercloud, the feds were indeed proud to fly the Aussie car flag for many years but slowly started to move to imports in the new millennium. Not sure if Kevin Rudd's choice of a Prius in 2007 was the catalyst for this shift, but I do remember being miffed that the PM wasn't driving Australian-made!
