One would have to say the formula of extending the chassis to properly accommodate the longer engine was a good one and far superior to just extending the grill as Chrysler did with the Centura, or bending the firewall as Ford did with the Cortina or just dropping the six in with little or no change as with the Marina (Morris Minor suspension notwithstanding).
The Australian Freeway and Wolseley 24/80 didn't seem to suffer any of those vices - there was enough room to put the radiator far enough forward and enable the six to squeeze in, without extending the front or indeed the wheelbase. There were suitable changes to the front suspension to cope with the extra weight. Sorry about the quality of these pics - they were taken nearly 40 years ago when we compared a British A60 with the Freeway.
