See my Forum topic regarding John Sprinzel who died the other day. He and his co-driver, Roy Fidler entered the Marathon in an MG Midget, a most unlikely long distant rally car. He was doing well until the Flinders Ranges when a front wheel came off. Up till then, he was leading the private entries and running in tenth place.
