You're spot-on there Steve. For 1972 CAMS introduced restrictions on the imported US cars to bring them in line with the best locally-made models, hence a 6.0-litre limit and rear drum brakes. Not that it bothered Jane because with higher rpm and the torque multiplication of gearing it down, it had similar power to the 427 at the rear wheels. Fact is, the Camaro went as fast if not faster with the 350 in it, which no doubt annoyed Mr Moffat! And Bob indeed won consecutive titles. Like I said, the original Mustang vs Camaro era was much more interesting than today.
