Only about 2000 Riley Two-Point-Sixes were made, and I've only ever seen one and it was this one in Christchurch about 10 years ago. Note that it's next to a One-Point-Five (based on the Wolseley 1500) Morgul, a lot of it had to do with petrol rationing which lasted until 1951, and that was 'Pool', a very low octane developed for war-time. Also, the horse-power tax was dropped in 1947, which gave Ford a head start in being able to develop the over-square Consul and Zephyr engines, as by then the tax wasn't based on the bore size. It took Vauxhall a couple of years longer to introduce the same sized engines for their E-Series, which were initially launched with long-stroke engines. The annual road tax was, and I think still is a flat rate, whether it be a Rolls-Royce or a Morris Minor.
