Although they are highly collectable these days and rightly so, I remember at the time being disappointed with the various 'special' Falcons that Ford Australia released in the 1970s like the XB John Goss Special, XC Cobra and little-known XC Allan Moffat Special. They all exploited a competition image but used standard Falcon V8 drivetrains, which was a bit deflating given Ford's proud GT and GT-HO history but indicative of changing political and environmental influences.
